Rose City Dog Show '06

On Show,
Dog Show

We had a great time walking around the Portland Expo Center at the dog show, checking out all the breeds and watching the judging and agility contests. Just missed the Chessie's, but met a couple of the owners afterword and got some great information. Lot's of fun.

Thoughts from the Week

Kudos: A new program I saw featured on the Today Show this week, Day Care for All Ages. What a fantastic idea... Seniors and toddlers together during the day—everyone wins, especially with all the boomers rolling along into old age. I hope this idea catches on.

Inspiration: Sia. Cool discovery. She first hit my radar with the final track in the season finale of Six Feet Under, with 'Breathe Me' (scene where Claire drives into the future)—I listened to that song for a solid week after the show, which I'm still missing... Turns out, she's also one of the vocalists's from Zero 7, and has a new solo album out. Yay!

Painful: Watching Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds this weekend. Terrible movie, he's such a bad actor. Weak script. However, the special effects were cool. I'd imagine its a safe bet that Speilberg won't be partnering up him again.

On a New Year's Day

Happy 2006!

The Year of the Dog

The Year of the Dog
January 29, 2006 is the first day of the Chinese New Year — Hola!

Did You Know?
Chinese calendar has been in continuous use for centuries, which predates the International Calendar (based on the Gregorian Calendar) we use at the present day which goes back only some 425 years. The calendar measures time, from short durations of minutes and hours, to intervals of time measured in months, years and centuries, entirely based on the astronomical observations of the movement of the Sun, Moon and stars. -chinapage.com
