The graphic images are being used in Canada, Australia, and Brazil (to name a few) and have shown that people do heed such warnings and they do encourage people to quit.
Studies also suggest that U.S. warning labels are in need of a facelift. Cigarette packaging in the U.S. provides even less health information than many other, more benign consumer goods.
